K-Electric (KE) has ramped up its ongoing campaign against electricity theft in Sultanabad, removing more than 150 illegal connections and disconnecting power supply to over 350 defaulters. The move is part of the utility’s broader city-wide crackdown aimed at reducing losses, improving safety, and ensuring a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply across Karachi.
In addition to enforcement operations, KE established a facilitation camp under its ‘Hum Qadam’ initiative, offering residents on-the-spot bill payment options, complaint registration, and assistance in applying for legal connections. According to the company, several consumers took advantage of the initiative by clearing dues and submitting new connection requests on-site.
A K-Electric spokesperson emphasized that such actions will continue until electricity theft is completely eradicated from the city. “Illegal connections not only endanger lives but also damage the company’s infrastructure, leading to power disruptions for law-abiding citizens,” the spokesperson said. “We urge Karachi residents to support these efforts by paying bills on time and discouraging power theft.”
K-Electric’s anti-theft campaign is part of its commitment to providing a safer and more reliable energy network. The utility continues to engage communities through awareness drives, technical interventions, and facilitation camps, aligning with its vision of a theft-free and efficient power system for Karachi.
